Lower School After School Clubs, Classes, & Activities
We are excited to offer after-school clubs, classes and activities for our lower school students at First Presbyterian Academy at Shannon Forest this year! We have chosen activities that we hope interest the artistic, athletic and academic-minded students. Some of these activities will be available for the full school year and others will run by semester only.
These programs will start after school at 3:15 pm. Please note that yearly programs are handled on a monthly basis and do not require a yearly contract.
You can sign your student up for an after-school activity without signing up for late stay, as long as you pick your child up from the activity at the scheduled time. If you plan to have your child stay at school past the pick-up time for the chosen activity, you will need to sign them up for our late stay program and the late stay staff will stay until 5:30 pm. Please sign up for all activities using the form at the bottom of this page. Billing will be through your FACTS account.
Greenville Academy of Martial Arts
Our children are growing up in a world that tells them to do whatever they feel like doing and that their happiness is the highest good. But, seeking happiness without good character – self-control, respect, and work-ethic – is a recipe for disaster. We teach our students that doing the right thing is always more important than doing what we feel like doing. With a deep emphasis on character and quality, we teach age-appropriate self-defense skills through Jeet Kune Do, a scientific, simple, and effective method. It’s an unbeatable combination.

Creative Storytelling
Join Mrs. Stines in a fun-filled hour of imaginative STORY TELLING. Children will create scripts, props, and then they will act out some of there most cherished Bible stories, fables, and fairy tales. Mrs. Stines will guide the students on how to make these stories come to life. Each week the children will create a new play from start to finish and then do a live performance in front of their classmates. This program is for students of all grades and is great for outgoing children that want to put on a show!

Mathletes
Join Mrs. Stines for an hour of fun with math! Yes! Fun with math! Children will play tons of math games in various forms to sharpen their problem-solving skills. These games will engage the children, while improving multiplication memorization. Watch math become their favorite subject. This class will be open to grades 3rd -5th.

Spanish Club
Have you ever wanted to learn about Latin America or Spain? Go on an adventure with Mrs. Lopez in a complete interactive adventure as you learn about these magical places, while learning Spanish. This emersion experience will help you learn Spanish while learning about these rich cultures. Students will read books, have round table discussions, create crafts, and play games completely in Spanish. Mrs. Lopez was born and raised in Mexico and has a passion to teach others her culture. Mrs. Lopez is a devoted Christian, so as a bonus, children will learn a new bible verse each session, but with a twist; it will all be done in Spanish. Join Mrs. Lopez for this new unique experience. This will be a year-round program, where you can choose to attend every Wednesday, Friday, or you can choose to attend twice a week.

Keyboarding
Learning to type proficiently helps students increase their typing speed, improve accuracy, and develop proper finger placement, which are crucial for academic success and future careers. This structured typing class, taught by Mrs. Rodman, will provide students with the chance to practice these skills regularly, reinforcing their learning through interactive lessons and engaging activities. As students progress, they will gain confidence in their ability to type efficiently, which can enhance their productivity in writing assignments, online research, and digital communication. Additionally, mastering typing skills at an early age can set the foundation for more advanced computer skills in the future. The class will meet one hour each week, starting in February.

Kodable Creator Camp
Try the just released Kodable Creator App with AI technology from Cat Bot. This camp will review and reinforce all the coding concepts including loops, functions, properties, and conditions to program your own game! Over this 8-week after-school camp, we will review concepts, learn to debug code & explore different game styles. As we further master these skills, the goal by the end will be to create and publish a game for others to play on the app itself.

Kidokentics
Kidokinetics is a non-competitive mission-minded fitness program that teaches a variety of sports through very intentional play! We would love for you to join us!
- Common sports we teach are Soccer, Football, Basketball, Volleyball and Golf.
- Some uncommonly taught sports include parachutes, scooters, noodles, pogo
- Bounce, Pickleball, Badminton, Obstacle Courses, Gymnastics, Hoops, Scoops,
- Tennis, lacrosse, etc.
- Our team values deep relationships, excellent communication, clear organization and having so much fun with the kids!
Every class promises
- Movement! Teaching through play, rather than strict instruction to maximize play time.
- Confidence! Kids can do hard things, and we encourage them to try through observation and shoulder to shoulder interaction.
- Character building! Communication, teamwork, attitude and leadership.
- Results! Improvement in motor skills (balance and coordination, ability, reaction time, etc.)
