A Safe Place to Grow in Independence
High schoolers are moving toward adulthood and more independence, and that growth happens best in a safe, supportive environment. At First Presbyterian Academy, we prioritize both physical safety and emotional well-being, creating a space where students can take on new challenges and navigate the ups and downs of adolescence with confidence.
We understand that mistakes and missteps are part of the journey, and we approach them with grace and guidance. By fostering accountability and encouraging empathy, we help students learn from their experiences and grow into respectful, responsible young adults.
Academic Excellence Tailored to Your Teen
Choosing the right academic path is crucial to helping your high schooler reach their full potential. At First Presbyterian Academy, we offer a curriculum designed to challenge students academically, inspire them creatively, and support their growth in every area of life.

"First Presbyterian Academy has been a vital part of our family since 2008, providing both a strong education and a Christ-centered community. Our son Brandon, Class of 2023, is thriving at Bob Jones University, and our younger son, Braylen, is continuing to grow as a Junior. FPA has shaped our children’s futures while surrounding us with lifelong friendships and unwavering support. It’s more than a school—it’s our second home."

A Community of Faith and Growth
At First Presbyterian Academy, your child will explore new ideas, make friends, and build important skills in a joyful, Christ-centered setting. We believe in fostering curiosity and development through play and interactive activities — which helps students gain confidence and set the stage for a lifetime of learning.
High school is a season of growth, and it’s so much easier to navigate when teens feel supported and connected. At First Presbyterian Academy, we’ve built a culture where students are surrounded by authentic relationships, meaningful experiences, and plenty of opportunities to explore their interests — and find a place to belong.
Trusting Relationships with Teachers
Here, teachers are more than instructors — they’re Christian mentors and encouragers. With our small class sizes, faculty members truly get to know their students and invest in their success. They sponsor clubs, coach teams, and lead small groups (called Discover Groups) that stay together year after year. These connections give students a support system they can count on.

Unforgettable Experiences
Every year, students in grades 7-12 head to a retreat in the North Carolina mountains for three days of bonding, worship, and fun. It’s a time to hit pause on the busyness of life and focus on what really matters — faith, friendship, and personal growth. With skit nights, outdoor adventures, and a special tribute for graduating seniors, this retreat is a highlight of the year and a reminder of the community that makes our school so special.
Clubs and Activities for Every Interest
From Key Club and Youth in Government to Student Ambassadors and the Crusader Barbell Club, there’s a club for everyone. Whether they’re exploring creative talents in the Art Club or developing leadership skills in the Central Spirit Committee, students have the chance to connect with peers, pursue their interests, and make a difference.
