The Shannon Forest Concert Choir toured with the prestigious Choirs of America Festival in San Francisco on March 14, 2019. They worked with festival headliners Deke Sharon (The Sing Off, Pentatonix, Jane, Pitch Perfect) and Z. Randall Stroope (prolific and famous American composer). In addition, students took part in a choral clinic with Wei Cheng (UC Berkeley Director of Choral Activities).

After adjudicated performances, the event culminated in an evening concert performance spotlighting each choir and premiering a new mass choir piece by Z. Randall Stroope. Sophomores Noelle Shorter, Asher Moorhouse and junior Ansley Sanders were chosen out of hundreds of students to perform in small solo sections within the mass choir piece. Shannon’s Concert Choir received an outstanding cumulative score of 86 (out of 100). Our Concert Choir also helped to lead the Sunday morning worship service at Calvary Presbyterian Church. The group also enjoyed trips to Alcatraz, Pier 39, Fisherman's Wharf, Lombard Street, the Painted Ladies Houses (seen in the TV show Full House) and Chinatown. The wonderful experience ended with a sunset dinner and dance cruise around the San Francisco Bay.
