The FPA at Shannon Forest Concert Choir and Chamber Choir competed at the Music in the Parks festival in Atlanta, Georgia this past Saturday. The students performed at Douglasville High School and were given ratings and comments by judges Kevin Hibbard, Professor Emeritus of Music and Director of Choirs at University of West Georgia, and Jennifer Sengin, Associate Director of Choral Activities at Georgia State University. 

·       The Concert Choir earned a Superior rating with scores of 92.5 and 94.  They took 1st place in the 1A Women's Choir Division. 

·       The Chamber Choir also earned a Superior rating with scores of 95.5 and 96 and 1st Place in the 1A Jazz Choir Division. 

·       The Chamber Choir also earned the distinction of 1st Place Overall, beating out several AA schools (accredited school enrollment of 750 or higher) in the competition. 

·       Cadence Chapman was awarded the 2022 Outstanding Vocalist 

While in Atlanta, the students were also able to enjoy a Braves game, the Georgia Aquarium, Centennial Park, and Ponce City Market.
