The Crusaders Cross-Country team had one goal at the beginning of this season - be the best finishing team in the state and to finish our races and season strong. Through every practice and every meet, they saw their goal accomplished. There was a constant and steady improvement each time their shoes hit the pavement. Running in the toughest region in the state (Region 3-AA took 1st-4th place), the Varsity Boys’ team finished the season on Saturday with all seven runners coming in under 20:30 and recording personal records for the season. The Varsity Girls’ team had a strong showing as well with 4 personal records being set. Cara Grace Phillips and Mark Walsh earned SCISA Region 3-AA All-Region honors and Cara Grace Phillips earned SCISA AA All-State honors this past weekend in Columbia. We are extremely proud of our seniors Magdalena Birkner, Jack Cummings, Ned Horton, and Mark Walsh. They have run the race, they have finished strong, and they have laid a foundation of excellence that will result in success for the years to come. Go Crusaders!
